Program costs for the 2010 SLS Kenya program are as follows:

Program Fees

SLS Kenya: $2250 USD

Kenya Between the Lines Program Only: $1450 USD

The program fee pays for honorariums and location fees, among other built-in costs, and includes an opening reception, airport pickup and some transport within Nairobi. Please note that the fee does not include meals, accommodations, and transportation to, from, and within Kenya (including Nairobi-Lamu travel).

Program Payments

graA deposit of $150 (applied towards the program fee) is required with the Application. The payment can be either mailed in along with required writing samples or paid online.
graA second payment of $300 is due October 15.
gra Payment in full (and deadline to apply) must be received by November 5, 2010. Any exceptions must be negotiated with the Program Adminstrators.
graThose applying after November 5 must remit the entire program cost with the application.
graPlease note: unless payments are made on schedule, we cannot guarantee a place in the program.

Cancellations and Refunds

graAll monies will be refunded in full to students who are not accepted into the program, or, if for any reason, the program is cancelled.
graAll payments (except $150 cancellation fee) are fully refundable if a participant withdraws from the program voluntarily by November 5, 2010.  
graA cancellation fee of $500 will be assessed for any cancellation after November 5, 2010.
graAfter November 5 only recoverable costs will be refunded, less the $500 cancellation fee.
graNo refunds will be made once the program starts, regardless of student's participation.
graThe effective date of a cancellation shall be the date that such written notice is received by the Program Adminstrators.


Online Payments

Submit your $150 application fee here.
Submit a payment in any amount you specify. Use this option for any payments you choose to make to SLS in an amount different from the standard $150 application fee. (Please note: We strongly encourage you to make the bulk of your payment by checque and regular mail rather than via credit card; should you decide to pay using PayPal, we ask that you increase the payment by 3% to cover the paypal transaction fees. Thank you for understanding.)
